the leftovers season 2.
under the creative eye of angus wall, i was able to take part of the second season title sequence for ‘the leftovers’. with a very simple directive - turnaround on this one was very quick. in the end with a few artists, the team was able to deliver a subtle and emotional piece to accompany a somber series for hbo.
animation & compositing.
animation and comp was straight forward - by taking selected images and masking quick roto paths, we were able to remove people from intimate activities in order to replace them with something subtle, almost as if to give the viewer an uneasy feeling of loss, something that aligned perfectly with the show.
