arizona coyotes ANIMAL INSTINCT.
the famous group reached out to have me direct the arizona coyotes 2022 team intro for the gila river arena. from on set direction to the design and animation for the led wall, as well as editing and color correcting the sequence - the task was exciting. being able to give the arizona coyotes an intro worthy of their animalistic spirit was no easy task, but with the help of the famous team we were able to give the nhl franchise a piece full of energy worthy of the coyote name.
editing & direction.
working with the team at sneaky big studios in glendale arizona, we were able to build a massive led wall set to project many graphical elements i had created to convey a violent energy. we not only built one main set but also built multiple smaller sets for different lighting setups. one by one we had each team member come out and shoot various poses for camera. shooting 4k on the sony venice gave us lots of depth and color, as well as being a perfect tool for our low light shoot.

by digging into the animalistic energy of the sequence i leaned heavily into black and red for the visual color of the entire piece with bits of white to bring contrasting elements for the edit.
all cg elements were built in cinema 4d using scans and custom textures.
